Ep 006 - The Sweet Spot Between Food and Shame with Kay Loughrey

Food holds a lot of power. On a good day, it brings a sense of joy, connection, and satisfaction. But more often than not, many experience food with a side of guilt, shame, and negative emotion.

Here's the thing: ignoring these negative associations can not only poison your relationship with food, but it can have a severe impact on your mental health and well-being.

Kay Loughrey has been where you are. She used food to protect herself and feel safe after experiencing childhood trauma. Yo-yo dieting because the norm for her for over 30 years. Over that time she lost and regained 300 pounds again and again, but never seemed to lose feelings of fear, shame, and unworthiness. Until the moment she put her foot down and said enough was enough.

On this episode of May We Know Them, Kay shares how she not only created a new relationship with food, but healed from the shame connected to it. Press play to hear Kay share the ways she learned to love herself, believe in herself, and turn trauma into growth and freedom that has her living a powerful, sweet, delicious life. You're sure to walk away inspired to live your healthy, sweet life, too!

In true Strong Woman fashion, we've created space not only for you to see, but to be seen! The first part of the event is Kay's story, and the second part is those who attended live sharing what jumped out at them. Note - you don't need to be a woman to attend these live recordings, as you'll hear here!

Let's start a conversation about what matters, and lets do it together.
